Culturally-grounded care for immigrants, refugees, and those growing up in between.

"Because healing should honor where you come from — and where you're going."

Mai Bao Xiong, MS, LMFT

If you’ve ever felt caught between cultures, overwhelmed by expectations, or unsure where you truly belong—you’re not alone.
As a therapist who understands the complex experiences of AAPI and immigrant communities, I’m here to support you through the unique challenges that come with navigating multiple identities, family dynamics, intergenerational trauma, and the pressure to succeed while staying true to yourself.

My mission is to walk alongside you as you work through these struggles, so you can start living a life that feels more grounded, empowered, and aligned with who you really are—not just who you're expected to be.

With a practice rooted in a systemic, multicultural approach, I hold space for all aspects of your identity and lived experience. Whether you’re processing cultural tension, burnout, anxiety, or simply seeking a deeper connection with yourself, healing is possible—and it starts with honoring your story.

This is your space to reconnect with your mind, body, and spirit. Let's begin your journey, together.

Who You Are

Do you ever feel like you’re carrying the weight of everyone’s expectations — from your family, your culture, or the world around you?

Maybe you're tired of having to explain parts of your identity, or feeling like you have to choose between different parts of who you are. You might be looking for someone who truly understands the complexity of your story — without judgment or confusion.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Many of my clients — especially those who identify as BIPOC, children of immigrants, or part of marginalized communities — come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted. They're navigating so much: generational trauma, pressure to succeed, cultural expectations, and the stress of living in systems that weren’t built for them.

They often tell me, “I just want a therapist who gets it.

That’s exactly what I offer: a space where you don’t have to explain the basics of your identity — because I’ve lived it, too. As a refugee Hmong woman, I understand what it’s like to grow up in between cultures, to question your place, and to feel the silent weight of unspoken expectations. These lived experiences deeply shape my approach as a therapist.

If you're ready to feel more connected to yourself and less alone in your struggles, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation. Let’s explore how healing can look and feel different when your full self is welcomed in the room.

How I can Help You

I’m a trauma-informed therapist, and my personal experiences as a first-generation Hmong woman and refugee shape how I approach healing. Having grown up navigating cultural, societal, and family pressures, I know firsthand the constant push and pull of navigating multiple identities.

My approach is holistic, culturally grounded, and focused on helping you feel more whole — not just "better." As a certified EMDR therapist, I’ve specialized in helping people recover from traumatic experiences and build authentic, empowered lives.

My goal is to help you find your voice, reconnect with your roots, and reclaim your story in a way that honors your journey and identity.
